About

Daniel Jo AKA Dong HYUN Jo is a photographer/videographer.

Daniel’s work is imbued with a sense of quiet tension, where solitude and intimacy converge in striking compositions. There is an inherent duality in his aesthetic: the raw and the refined, the ephemeral and the eternal. Each frame feels like a still from a film that never fully reveals itself, leaving the viewer suspended in its lingering atmosphere.

His cinematographic eye draws inspiration from classic cinema while maintaining a contemporary sensibility, blending filmic grain with modern surrealism. His motion work, at times slow and meditative, at times kinetic and pulsating, channels a visceral experience that extends beyond the screen. The play of shadows and light in his compositions—whether stark and sculptural or diffused like memory—evokes the influence of artists like Wong Kar-wai and Tarkovsky, yet remains distinctly his own.

Through Daniel’s lens, photography and videography transcend documentation; they become immersive dreamscapes, where light dances with shadow and the silence of a frame speaks louder than words. His work is a meditation on presence, absence, and the poetic stillness that lingers in between.
